Angela is passionate about access to the right nutrition and enough food for all which has shaped her career and professional roles, focused her community involvements and influenced her social activities.
Angela has held several leadership positions in nutrition in the food industry over the past 30 years. Currently, a Marketing Manager of pediatric nutrition in Fonterra’s ingredients division. Prior to that she was General Manager for Nutrition, in Fonterra’s Global R&D group where she led a team of nutrition scientists in product innovation, nutrition and health research and corporate nutrition functions responsible for establishing nutrition policy and governance frameworks. Prior to that, she was the Programme Manager Nutrition and Health managing strategic nutrition research programmes including external research relationships. Previous roles include maternal and pediatric nutrition for the Asian FMCG business, R&D portfolio management, Patent portfolio management, and including a brief period based in the UAE. Angela has also worked as an independent consultant to food industry and government departments.
A registered nutritionist, Angela has been the NZ representative on the International Union of Nutritional Sciences, has been a member of the International Dairy Federation Standing Committee for Nutrition and Health, is a past President and Treasurer of the Nutrition Society of New Zealand.
Outside of work Angela has been involved in many professional and community groups such as Soroptimist International, local churches and charity groups.
