Why is the food free?
The food is free because it has been rescued from going to landfill. Offering it at no cost helps reduce waste and ensures everyone has access to food, regardless of their circumstances.
Where does the food come from?
Our food comes from supermarkets, wholesalers, producers, cafés, and other businesses that have surplus food they cannot sell but is still safe to eat.
Is the food safe to eat?
Yes. Food safety is very important to us. All food is checked, handled, and stored according to food safety guidelines. Some items may be past their “best before” date, but this does not mean they are unsafe – it simply relates to quality, not safety.
Who can use our service?
Anyone is welcome. You do not need to be in crisis to visit.
Do I need proof of income or registration?
No. There is no paperwork, referral, or proof required. Just
come in during our opening hours. Please note that we do require ID for Senior time on Wednesday 1 – 2pm (for age 65+ only).
