Melissa Bourke (Mel) is a general practice lawyer in the Manawatū who has a passion for community.
A partner of the law firm Innes Dean Tararua Law, she specialises in the legal areas of relationship property, trusts and elder law and is currently a lawyer appointed by the Family Court to act for people lacking mental capacity under the Protection for Personal and Property Rights Act 1988.
In 2006, Mel completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Victoria, Wellington.
Outside of work Mel is a Manawatū Branch Council member for the New Zealand Law Society, a Director of NZ Law Ltd and is the Manawatū contact for the New Zealand Christian Lawyers Association. She attends Hope Vineyard Church with her husband and two daughters, whose friendly faces are sometimes seen behind the counter at Just Zilch.
