Together we aim to be a community that won’t let anyone go hungry.
To do this we need help paying the bills. So, we created ‘A Piece of Cake’ fundraiser. Seriously, have you ever tried to eat a whole cake by yourself? Plus, it’s way better if you share it with others.
We are looking for corporate sponsors that want to join us to create a community free from hunger and reduce food waste.
Each ‘piece of cake’ is worth a donation of $5200 a year – or $100 a week. In return, we’ll say thanks many times over and we’ll even bake you a cake!
The money raised will cover about 50% of our costs, covering items such as, but not limited to: electricity, cleaning products, gloves and food grade bags, fuel and van related expenses, rent, rates and staff wages.
If you can’t join us for cake, then please support the companies who are helping us – thank you
Countdown is New Zealand’s largest supermarket brand with 183 supermarkets nationwide. Every Countdown store actively works with charities and groups locally in their communities. The four stores around Palmerston North (Rangitikei St, The Plaza, Broadway, and Kelvin Grove) support Just Zilch as part of Countdown’s Food Rescue programme which donates more than $3.5 million dollars of food annually to food bank charities throughout New Zealand.
OBO is a Palmy success story … designing and manufacturing locally and selling its sports protection products into 62 countries globally. 68% of all hockey goal keepers at the last Olympics used OBO. We support the great work of Zilch because we really care about our wonderful city.
